Meet Michael
I was born in Albany, NY. I am an only child and grew up in one of the most loving households imaginable. My parents did everything possible to support me and I can honestly say they are the reason I am successful today. From annual summer vacations to varying destinations in the U.S. to taking me to sporting events, concerts, and family gatherings - my parents made my childhood memorable. I hope to do the same thing with my children. My parents are role models to me as I navigate my loving relationship with Tim.

Another family member who was critical to my upbringing was my Nana. She cared for me while my parents were at work. My Nana was the one who took me to school, was at home when I got off the school bus, and filled my summer vacations with fun adventures. My Nana was also my caretaker when I was a toddler while my parents worked. I have so many fond memories of our time together, whether it was playing school, UNO, or going on breakfast dates as I entered adulthood. We lost my Nana in 2022, but I will forever carry her loving nature in my heart.

Throughout my childhood and adolescent years, I thrived on an all-star education. Growing up in Penfield, NY, I was privileged to attend high-performing schools. Harris Hill Elementary holds a very special place in my heart. There, I met one of my life-long role models who happened to be my 1st and 2nd grade teacher. Mrs. Bermudez would go on to be the sole reason I dedicated my life to being an elementary teacher. Her dedication and the selflessness she gave to her students was extraordinary to watch. Mrs. Bermudez became a mentor of mine as I went through my school years, going back to her classroom every year to help out and learn the tricks and art of being a teacher.

In 2013, I graduated from Penfield High School. Going to college was not a challenging endeavor as I knew I wanted to major in education. I started my journey at Monroe Community College as I enrolled in the 2+2 program with St. John Fisher College. In 2015, I graduated from MCC with my Associate Degree and transferred to Fisher in Rochester, NY. There, I was a double major in childhood education and psychology. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Inclusive Childhood Education (Summa Cum Laude) in 2017. I also obtained my New York State Teaching Certification in 2017, allowing me to teach general education and special education, grades 1-6. Not long after I graduated, I started my Master of Science in Literacy Education at St. John Fisher. I would go on to earn my Masters in August of 2019 with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. In early 2020, I added literacy birth-grade 6 to my certification repertoire, which advanced me to professional certification status in New York State.

In August of 2018, I was hired as a 5th grade special education teacher in Sodus, NY. I spent the year prior gaining experience as a teaching assistant in Penfield, NY. I was thrilled for my dreams of becoming a teacher to finally be a reality. In Summer 2019, I switched tenure tracks and took a 5th grade general education position in the same building and work with the same educators. Shortly after COVID-19 hit, I had the opportunity to move to Sodus Elementary and teach 3rd grade. I was excited about this change because the "littles" hold a special place in my heart. I have been fortunate enough to remain a 3rd grade general education teacher in Sodus and continues today.

The last piece of my life's puzzle would have to be... Tim! At the time, I was living in an apartment in Palmyra, NY. After a few failed attempts at relationships, my hopes for meeting someone special became flawed. However, on one sunny August day, I happened to swipe right on 'one of those apps'. After talking for a bit, I knew this guy was something special and I wanted to get to know him better. Our first date was wonderful, but it was our second date that sealed the deal for me. We went to the Seneca Park Zoo. At the end of the date, he gave me a letter in an envelope but told me not to open it until I got home. As soon as I got home, I opened the envelope. By my surprise, it was Tim asking me to be his boyfriend. Come to find out, he didn't want me to open it until I got home because he was scared that I would say no! As you can probably imagine, I was thrilled to accept this loving gesture. Only a few months later, Tim moved into my apartment with me. It was clear that we were meant for each other and that I had found my soulmate.

We would ultimately start looking for a house of our own, to call a home that we could build our lives and family in. We ended up closing on a home in Webster, NY. The location is absolutely perfect and we are ecstatic to build our family here. Of course... marriage is not too far off, with plans to get married in June 2025. I cannot imagine spending my life with anyone else. Tim is truly the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me and I feel blessed each day to come home to his loving embrace.

There you have it, a bit of my life in a nutshell. Of course, if you would like to know more about anything, please reach out to us as we would llove to talk to you more about our aspirations to become parents.

Thank you so much for your time and we look forward to talking to you soon!

Salutations! I grew up in the small town of Albion, NY. Now, when you think of New York everyone immediately thinks of the big city at the eastern end of the state. For me, think farms, cows, and crops. While it was quiet, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I lived with my mom and dad until he passed away when I was only seven years old. Some of my fondest memories with him were fishing, playing video games, and watching football. These are some of the things I most hope to do with my child, too!

When my dad passed away, my grandmother moved in with us to help take care of me. It was me, Mom, and Gram. I had anything and everything I wanted in a non-traditional home. I turned out okay like I know our child will, too! Having two dads and a plethora of support from our extended families will allow for the most amazing life for your child.

My mom was and still is selfless. She gave up so much of her own personal life and time for me - well past the age of eighteen. Always making sure I had what I needed and getting me where I needed to go. I always enjoyed our talks, playing with our doggies together, going for rides, and taking small vacations and outings. We went fishing and she made sure I got to my baseball and soccer games. Even when I made her life difficult she never gave up on me and showed me all the love and support in the world.

Our extended family was always there for me too. I would spend time with my cousins most weekends and loved going to local short track racing in the summer time. My aunt always made sure that I had gas to drive where I wanted and made me food and goodies all the time!

When it comes to education, I excelled. I love to learn. I graduated 11th in my high school class. Immediately I went to the local community college and took a plethora of courses to figure out what I wanted to do for a career. I tossed around the idea of becoming a teacher, vet, an oceanographer, a meteorologist, or an accountant. I ended up with a Master of Business Administration.

My career started in retail. Eventually, I worked my way up to be a Store Manager and District Team Leader with Family Dollar. It became a lot and there was little work/life balance. I was given the opportunity to get into the Social Security Administration and that is where I work today. I am so thankful for the work/life balance and the stability of the job. Working there allows me to put my family first. My job allows for flexible leave. I've used it to take care of my Mom and will use it to care for our child. I cannot wait to attend their field trips, assemblies, plays, recitals, sports, scouting, or whatever extra curricular activities they choose!

One thing that I always struggled with is my weight. I was big for as long as I can remember. Finally, in March of 2022 I decided to have gastic sleeve surgery. I was at my heaviest - 325 lbs., and drastically needed a change. Currently, I weigh 212 lbs., down over 113 lbs. and feel amazing. The photo there shows the difference and it was stunning to me. Getting another shot at life was a true blessing and now I am living my dream both personally and professionally.

Less than six months after surgery, I met Michael! Our journey began together. Michael is probably the most genuine, honest, and loving person I have ever met. He understands me. He accepts my flaws and shares my dreams for the future. We have built such an incredible life together. I cherish coming home to him every day. Whether we chat, watch movies, go shopping, go walking, or just for a ride as long as I am near him my heart is happy. I never knew what true love was until I met him and now I cannot imagine a single day without him on this Earth.

OUR STORY
Our relationship started out on one of the apps called Bumble. Over the next several days we texted and got to know each other on a basic level. We decided to meet for dinner (Tim was so nervous he almost drove away while waiting in the parking lot!). Good thing he didn't because it was a spectacular meal and conversation. After dinner, we went for a walk around the mall across the street. Michael was so enamored by Tim he drove over the curb!

From the first conversation, it became clear there was chemistry, admiration, and connection. Over the next several months we spent all our free time together either in person or on the phone as we lived about an hour away from each other. Time together would be spent going for scenic drives, walking/hiking, shopping, dining, or hanging out. What is interesting - and amazing - is that we are two very different people yet so similar and drawn to one another. We balance each other out. Tim moved in to Michael's apartment with him about three months after meeting. While living together, it continued to be clear and were the ying to each others yang. Then, we ended up purchasing a home with the goal of raising a family in mind.

Shortly after purchasing our home, we brought home Murphy (brown) and Abby (black), our two cockapoos. They are so full of energy, love, and intelligence. Going on walks, playing with them, training them, and cuddling is relaxing and beautiful. They absolutely love to play and will be great companions for our future child!
We have travelled together to Maine for a family vacation - and expect to make an annual trip to Old Orchard Beach every summer. Michael and I have also traveled to Las Vegas, Death Valley, and Red Rock Canyon together. Time was spent gaming, seeing shows, hiking, and taking so many pictures. It was breathtaking! We cannot wait to continue to explore national parks, different states, cultures, and the like with our growing family.

As talked about briefly, we hold very stable jobs. Michael is a teacher and will have all the same time off as our child does. Tim works for the federal government which offers excellent work/life balance. Financially, we are secure and are more than able to provide for a family and save for our future. As you'll continue to see, our support system through family and friends is amazing. We are truly lucky to have such amazing people in our lives.
